クリオン島にも新型コロナウイルス感染症の感染者が出たそうです。
4月10日、2つのバランガイからそれぞれ1人ずつ、島内初となる新型コロナウイルス感染症の陽性者が判明しました。すぐにバランガイごと隔離措置が取られましたが、感染者は広がり、クリオンの医療従事者もコロナに罹患し、濃厚接触者たちも休めず出勤しています。15日現在21人の感染が判明しています。
現地愛の会のエスピナ会長の息子のクリストファーさんは、食堂＆ダイビングスクールを開いています。コロナ後は仕事が激減しましたが、デリバリーに活路を見出しています。
クリストファーさんは、コロナ最前線で身を挺して働いている医療従事者の皆さんに、ご自分たちのお店からピザなどを差し入れ、激励しています。

Covidb19 continues increasingly by numbers day by day we are in a critical hard lockdown in our village only Barrio Osmena where mostly have affected come from.
Today the Culion Sanitarium General Hospital Director Arturo Cunanan wife passed away at 60yrs old.

Culion is hurting. Culion is grieving. What used to be a place of endless laughter and a well of beautiful memories is now in a standstill. Silent. Troubled. Gray.
Times like this call for consolation, encouragement, and sensible action. There must be no room for hate, useless finger-pointing, and indifference. The earlier we get our acts together, the better.
Let us look back for learning and inspiration. Let our hearts be stout, our minds clear, and our determination firm as we do our tasks today. And let us look forward to a future where we can again sing, dance and be at peace with one another❤🙏

We are so worried about you and are playing ardently the safety of you all and the people and the place.
Under such hard lockdown, you must have been suffering from lack of daily necessities including food and medicine of Espina-san.
How can we help you?

Dear Christfer, thank you for your letter above to share the hard time you and Culion people are facing. maybe you’ve recieved a reply letter from Kazuko. we are all breaking our hearts to hear the harsh time you are facing from your report above… we are afraid if your daily life and Espina san’s medicines are again in severe situation…

We are very concerned to hear about the covid-19 outbreak in Culion Island.
The barangay you live in is locked out, are you provided with food and medicine?
It is a sad event that Dr. Cunanan’s wife passed away. we pray for his wife’s peace and her family.
May the chain of infections end and return to peaceful Culion as soon as possible.
